The problem isn't the RAM, it's your graphics card (UHD Graphics 620). You're officially below the minimum requirements for the game. Your Dell Latitude 7490 is a business laptop and not designed for gaming.I'm sorry to have to give you the bad news. π

ThinkPads are a poor choice for this specifically because some of the 8th gen models are considered "legendary" and are regularly talked about by online influeners. So like T480s are oldest officially to run 11 but they can be seen for $300+. IME standard retail 11 runs fine on 8th gen without needi

Looks great! I've been thinking a lot about this kind of thig as I've been answering questions people ask about which thinkpad to buy and what the differences are between them and I think you touch on a really important misunderstanding. ThinkPads (and the other ExcelBox desktop and laptop models fr

I'm sorry to hear your friend did something severe enough to cut contact. You've probably seen the specs for this machine: https://psref.lenovo.com/l/product/ThinkPad/ThinkPad_P1 LLMs won't run well on this thing, mostly because that needs a lot of RAM. Your best hope would be, if this thing had fou

T14 is newer and I'd go that direction if you can afford it. The T480 is on the inner edge of 9 years old and T490 is barely any better at the inner edge of 8 years old. (Although as mentioned they're arguably probably fine for office usage and light video work. my primary personal computer is a Lat

i run a dell 7490 for my field ham stuff. It's like 80 bucks on ebay, has plenty of grunt to run any ham app, you can spend another $29 to put a new battery in which will give it upwards of 8 hours runtime, and it does many other duties such as radio programming etc. Charge it with the brick or usb-

+1 This $399 Win11 laptop would be fine, probably not great battery life but the specs are good for browsing and everyday use:https://nzpcclearance.co.nz/product/dell-latitude-7490-business-laptop-i5-8th-gen-8gb-256gb-14-inch-hd-w11-pro/ I handed down a similar laptop to a family member a few years
