Thinkpad Recommendations for School?

For $500 you should be able to get your pick of decent T14 or X-series machines on the used market. If you're in the US, eBay is gonna be the go-to destination unless you live in a very major metro with a local recycler. (RePC in Seattle/Tukwila type of thing) Although, if you do, be aware those loc

Need a Female USB-C to USB-A Adapter (DisplayLink). Does it need to be a specific kind or any adapter will work?

I'm confused. When I look up the laptop model you provided (Dell 7450, which I presume is the Latitude 7450) it says it has two Thunderbolt/USB-C ports. Is it that you think the Thunderbolt ports are not USB-C ports? Or is the laptop model number wrong? Or do you perhaps have some sort of non-standa

Which brand laptop is best for long term run ?

depends on the dell latitude IMO (because they have 3xxx, 5xxx, 7xxx), i've had dell latitude 7450, 5490, 5290 before...works fine I think Precision is more or less comparable to the P-series Thinkpad...Latitude is somewhere around T-series to L-series or even E-series (maybe the 3xxx Dell latitudes

How much would you pay for a T14s gen 5?

That's about what these run. I see one in the US for about 750. Non-S versions are more plentiful but the only examples I see under 700 have something wrong with them. There's one for 499 that works but one of the USB-C ports is failed/blocked and it's got a couple scratches and dings. Maybe cross-s

Laptop for Education Major

I'm going to strongly disagree with these folks on the Latitude 7450. If you can get one with 32GB of RAM, then perhaps, but the 7450 cannot have it's RAM upgraded - it's soldered onto the board, and is not replaceable. The Latitude 5440/5450 (14" screen) or Latitude 5540/5550 (15.6" screen, and ful

Laptop recommendation

My son is on campus, but I got him a Dell Latitude 7450, with intel I7 Ultra processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD and it's been working very well for him.

Anyone else hating these new Dell Pro models?

Looking forward to them getting in our stock. We will get the stock of Dell Pro 14 Plus and Dell Pro 16 Plus in our IT lab inventory in September 2025. It should have been sooner, but tough negotiations with Dell's sales team according to the company CTO. - Dell Latitude 7420 were solid until you ac

Thoughts on the Dell Pro 16 Plus on sale for only $849 for black friday laptop deal?

Not the OP but I have a Latitude 7450 with Ultra 7 165H and a string of XPS products before that. Every single one of them had wifi issues so bad that I had to revert back to dock/external wifi dongle. My current Latitude has been BSODing at least once a week due to weird driver issues even after th
