Connecting Phono Preamp
having to rely on the built-in preampSaiyin Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers The built in phono preamp in the AT-LP3 is more than good enough for the basic low cost bare minimum entry level speakers so you may as well keep using it since it's the basic speakers that are the sound quality bottleneck of y

Pieced together a bedroom system for myself, wanted to show it off and potentially help anyone interested in making their own secondhand setup.
Congrats! The budget speakers are still the sound quality bottleneck :( What is a nearby zip code I can search for good used speakers for you? Even these $79 6.5" Dayton B65 would be a good upgrade! Are you using 4" Edifier powered speakers with a stereo receiver that is meant to power passive speakers? If you want to keep using the powered speakers then you could replace the large stereo receiver with a small phono preamp. $22 Bozak may be similar quality to the one in the stereo receiver. $49

Found used for 30 dollars at goodwill
What is a zip code to search for used speaker options? The Angels Horn has a cheap built in speaker amp and included cheap speakers. These 6.5" Dayton B65 $79 passive speakers will be an upgrade. Ideally also upgrade to a better external speaker amp, at least a Fosi $81 mini amp. Or powered speakers

New Speakrs (Whatcha Think?)
Insignia NS-HBTSS116 for $75? Ok on sale from $149 if that was your budget. Or do you have a larger budget for better than basic entry level speakers? What is the room length and width? What is a nearby zip code to search for used options? Better or better and larger options.... For a medium size ro

Fluance RT82 >>> Emotiva PH1 $59 phono premap >>> Bose speaker system. You already have basic entry level Bose speakers so it's not worth buying entry level Edifier R1280 that may not be all that much better or are not a worthwhile enough of an upgrade. The Edifiers are for if you don't have any spe

Edifier R1280 for $199? The small 4" basic bare minimum Edifier R1280 are if you can't spend more for good speakers. They were ok at $150 two years ago, they are not a good buy for $200 now. If you have a small room then get the better 4" Kanto YU $199 on sale from $349. If you have a medium size ro

Fluance RT82 Speaker/Preamp Advice
Good question, not silly! Can you return the small basic 4" Edifier speakers? They are basic bare minimum type that are often paired with the bare minimum AT-LP60X if you can't afford a good turntable and good speakers. For the $350 RT82 turntable ideally spend twice as much on speakers and amplific

Is this any good?
That's pretty tight budget if buying new. If buying used, probably a whole lot easier (although if you decide to go for powered speakers, I think it's a lot better to buy them new, personally). However, for new passive speakers, maybe something like the Dayton Audio Classic B65 speakers would be a g

Maybe it’s a crappy turntable It's a step up from a suitcase or all in one! It does have the good AT MM cartridge with diamond tip stylus on an adjustable tonearm! The main issue is the low build quality and low quality control, however if it's working well then it's fine to start with. It's the che
