Most reliable printer
TL;DR: It’s not the brand, they all suck, although Elegoo has remained popular for a reason. I’m up to having owned 7 resin printers. 4 of those are Elegoo, and I’ve owned a Phrozen and currently own an Anycubic (along with 2 Saturns). I’m quite critical of the resin printer market, but Elegoo has a

Current market for printers
Depends on what you precisely want to do. Considering I just went through this process and settled on a P1S due to not having a space I can safely set up a resin station, I'll try to go over the considerations. So you showed off a really nice Ghazghkull riff, what quality are you expecting to get? M

Any thoughts on the Halot X1?
One of the admins here has one and says good things about it. I believe he has a review if you search. Otherwise, the Halot X1 is over twice the build area/volume of a Mars 5. That’s not something to ignore. It also doesn’t have any issues around auto-leveling. Personally I would lean X1.

How to avoid the holes in top of the prints?
It's within the realm of normal. My Halot X1 runs an exposure of 1.9sec.

Printer recommendations on 2026?
There are maybe 4 or 5 good quality affordable options right now but each has a downside. These are the models I’d consider & why I’d be hesitant. Heygears Reflex RS Turbo - too locked down and upgrading for the heated vat is an extra expense. Messy flat build plate. Anycubic P1/P1 Max - I’m unsure

Saturn 4 Ultra 16k, or Halot X1?
How is the Halot X1 with heating / and managing resin? Heating and filling is great. Pumping the resin back out isn't perfect, as it leaves a small amount in the bottom of the vat. What would make you pick the Saturn if it has heating? The tilt release mechanism for the vat. I think that does wonder

Pricing on GW
Yes same. I got in the habit of not using it in my shed over winter (until I made an enclosure, with ventilation and filters, so I could use it in house). I also I have had my eye on the creality HALOT-X1 as possiblity my next printer as it has the heated resin vat, pump on vat (for auto refilll or

Resin for printing Anime Figures?
take a look at the pinned post for my thoughts on the Halot X1, I have a link to a google photo album which shows some prints from it. Those are all using 50micron layers.

Saturn 3 is it actually worth replacing screen?
I would check eBay for similar open box or refurb printers.. I have about 5 or 6 and they are near-new and deeply discounted. I just picked up a Halot X1 16K for $296
