yeah the cable while on adds a weird hissing sound, I've read somewhere that it's significantly less on gray models but the rest of the colors (other than black and gray) weren't out back then. Also might consider something like a corsair HS60 Haptic if you're ONLY gonna game with them wired, since

For the non audiophile the maxwell 1s were over rated in my opinion. Providing a very neautral sound. I put them on to play bf6 and was really underwhelmed. The corsair hs60 haptics were my last pair, and that haptic feedback in the headphones were so much fun.
