I'm not a photographer - which Ricoh would you recommend?

Canon R50. I would never recommend a Ricoh to a mom, especially one who specifically mentions wanting to shoot subjects in motion (the AF is terrible). You can absolutely get colors you like with a phone if you learn to use any editing app.
