Canon’s new FX3 competitor…the R50C: 7K internal raw & open gate recording.

Even though I doubt such a small package can fit something like this, just imagine if this thing turns out to have internal NDs. The RF mount can certainly handle it, as shown on the C70, C80, and C400, which all have internal NDs on the same mount. I recall seeing a patent filing suggesting they we

Double down on Canon while moving to interview filming from photography?

I would say yes. We have a Canon R5C, C50, and two C80's and they are great cameras. I know this sub is pretty "Sony" heavy, but there is nothing wrong with Canon Cinema cameras. Those lenses would be just fine for what you want to do. My advice is, though, to think less about a 3 camera setup and m

My current journey with VR180

It was very nice of you to share your story but there's some things that you really should know. First I'm a professional that's been shooting VR for the last 13 years in the media business for 40 and shooting at the R5 and r5c for the last almost 4 years. I tested and rejected the R5 because it ove

At what point do/did you buy a cinema line camera?

I’m in the canon ecosystem, and I jumped to a cinema hybrid (R5C) once overheating issues on my R6 started to have a significant impact on my workflows. Tried the gimmicky external cooling units. No replacement for internal cooling. And now that I have the all the monitoring tools and expanded menus

Switching from Canon to Sony - yes or no?

Both systems are fine now a days. But As a canon R6 mk2 owner, the wide angle wobble really sucks. The Mk3 has the same problem. This is my only issue with the canon cameras. So If you do choose canon I would recommend the canon Cinema line instead. C50 or R5c are both solid in my opinion. New lense

Fellow cinematographers: can you guess what I forget so often I had to make a sticker for my camera?

Newer Sonys have separate settings so you can swap between video and photo settings on the fly, it's been such a big quality of life improvement. When people were saying that the Canon R5C had that I was like meh, but now after using it, I can't go back to not having it when shooting hybrid.

Wedding photographer looking to add video (Canon ecosystem?) – R6 Mark II or switching brands

Some thoughts as a full time videographer who has shot weddings in the past: I have the r6 mk3. I do not recommend it as a video-only camera. I bought it to be my hybrid body to complement my c70. If you want a video-focused body within the canon ecosystem, your only decent opinions are R5C, C70, C8

Canon’s new FX3 competitor…the R50C: 7K internal raw & open gate recording.

I honestly think this will be an important selling point. Canon has yet to really have a standard DSLR sized cinema camera that was designed for rigging. The R5C seems like a great entry cinema camera, but the fact it kept the R5 body shape meant it really wasn't designed for rigging like the FX3 is

Need feedback on my VR180 video quality - used Neat Video and Topaz AI, but still not satisfied

I am a working VR professional and you're on the right track it's just a matter of understanding how to use the tools. First of all, what settings did you use on your r5c? Hopefully you shot Canon raw LT 8K at 59.94 frames per second. Canon color science is a little different and you have to get use

Anyone able to tell what kind of set up this is from this low res pic?

I've got more or less this same setup - the C200 (a couple of them) with the Canon 18-80. Beautiful lens, though it's only S35, and I wish the zoom motor on the side was completely removable for when it's not being used. The C200 still takes a beautiful image, although you do have to shoot it in raw
