Recommendation Camera

I recommend renting the R5c as needed and putting more money toward post-production software. https://www.lensrentals.com/rent/canon-eos-r5-c-vr-creator-kit-w-rf-5.2mm-f2.8-dual-fisheye The Immersive Company just put out a teaser announcement about a new option later this year. Canon’s new FX3 competitor…the R50C: 7K internal raw & open gate recording.

I honestly think this will be an important selling point. Canon has yet to really have a standard DSLR sized cinema camera that was designed for rigging. The R5C seems like a great entry cinema camera, but the fact it kept the R5 body shape meant it really wasn't designed for rigging like the FX3 is

Sharing this quick reel I shot, edited, and graded!

Just got the Canon R5C after wanting it for a long time. Its a relatively old camera by now but fits my budget and has everything I need. Shot this with the 24–105 f4 and graded in DaVinci. Still figuring it out but I’m really liking it so far. Curious what you guys think, anything I should improve

The Power of Color Grading

Things have slowed down but not that much. With Canon pushing out the new r6mkiii even after the mk2 was just out shows there is a market in which consumers want different things. I guess it’s all based on your needs. Even in the cinema line, when the r5c was out, it was (and still is) a great camer

Making Leather Balm

I’d say an fx3 with a 35mm or a 50mm with a pro mist filter or vintage glass. Maybe even a canon r5c on the body

Is the C500 mkII still relevant?

I was an early R5C adopter, then I picked up the C70. But the C500 mk2 at current prices new is such a good deal. It seems Canon backed off using the C700 sensor (same as C500 mk2) in the C400 and C80. Not sure why, but for my use cases, the C500 mk2 for sale at 70% of original MSRP is a no brainer.

Wedding photographer looking to add video (Canon ecosystem?) – R6 Mark II or switching brands

there’s always tradeoffs, I prefer R5C for A-cam, or the cinema line (same for Sony equivalent), but OP is a photog w/ a canon ecosystem, R6m2 is probably a solid bet to have a more matched second body to R6 for photo that can also be used to explore video by this logic, one could argue anyone who u

New camera question? Going Canon or Lumix

Cool answer! I love Lumix as i use S5II but Canon R5C was around cheaper than S1II and close to price to S1IIE (which might be another option), but the Canon seems better for photography as im a hybrid shooter. The thing is I dont really know if im able to like a camera without IBIS as im pretty muc

What are the exact target customer profiles for the Canon C50, C70, and C80? Which type of filmmaker or production scenario justifies each model, and where do they overlap or fail to differentiate?

This article explains that c70 is for filmmakers and c50 is for videographers. C50 and r5c can be b cams to the c70. https://www.canon-europe.com/pro/stories/eos-c70-vs-eos-c50-vs-eos-r5-c/

Thoughts on hybrid cameras

I run a 300 mkiii with EOS R as a B cam. It works fine as a B cam but only has LOG, not LOG2 or 3. I like it for stills. Maybe consider the R5C but if you're trying to stay price conscious consider this my endorsement for the EOS R.
