Canon EOS Rebel T7 Two Lens Bundle on Sale at Costco

Wow, that's interesting! But really not a solid deal, it's more like a total ripoff preying on beginners who don't know any better. That T7 2-lens kit is currently on sale through Canon's refurbished program for $320, and is questionable value even at that price. The Canon R100 kit with the RF-S 18-

Considering a Pentax but.....

I think you're asking the wrong question. Is Pentax autofocus bad? No, for the optical viewfinder DSLR, it's great. Pentax live view autofocus is... not good. The Canon 90D DSLR live view autofocus will out-perform any Pentax. The Nikon D780 live view will also out-perform any Pentax. That's because

Is this good for a complete beginner?

Just don't. Better go with R100 which is a bargain too. Edit: Canon R100, entry level mirroless

Will Pentax further invest in DSLR ?

Mirrorless is the future, that has been clear. The advantages you get in AF alone are worth the jump, but that does not mean you get the same feel. I like my DSLRs, but I did feel over the years the development wat hitting a hard wall and they only became very incremental. Mirrorless removed a borde

Is this camera (Canon M50) good for beginners at this price point? I've been wanting to get into photography and I have absolutely no prior experience so any advice is really appreciated:)

i'm not sure about your market, maybe prices are very different - but 390 bucks seems like a lot. just today i saw a brand new canon R100 kit offer for 399€.

Last camera I owned was bought used in 2011. What's the current camera market look like?

You won't get all of new, $500, Canon/Nikon, and selfie screen with any camera I'd recommend. You can get a Canon R100 bundle from Amazon for $499 with a kit lens with no flip screen, but if you already like Nikon, for another few hundred you can get a Z30 kit which does have a flip screen, or an R5
