What color luggage? Hard or Soft?

yeah I have a briggs and riley in kind of an army green and it always looks dirty. i’ve tried cleaning it with various cleaners and detergent and a drill brush and the ballistic nylon weave is too dense to effectively penetrate. maybe i should try a pressure washer.

Lifetime Warranty Excludes Airline Damage?

The only unfortunate thing about Briggs and Riley is that their global local repair network has shrunk a lot so they often require you to mail it back to their repair facility in New York.

Briggs & Riley Large Cargo Backpack as Personal Item

This one? https://www.briggs-riley.com/products/large-cargo-backpack-1. The specs are 18.75 x 16 x 8.75 in / 47.6 x 40.6 x 22.2 cm, 3.6 lbs / 1.6 kg. Air Canada person item limits: 16 x 33 x 43 cm (6 x 13 x 17 inches). That’s a fail on 3/3 dimensions and it’s as heavy as a Farpoint 40. Thr issue is

LuggageWorks is garbage.

I'll agree that they aren't what they used to be. I bought my first 21" aluminum-frame Stealth from Purdy Neat Things back in 1993 and after a couple trips through the refurb process sold it a few years ago to a young airline guy. I could do about 85% of the repairs on it myself and only had to send

Is Tumi really worth the $$?

I have a Tumi carry-on hard shell luggage that I paid $500 for-- but not by choice. Story time: I was on an early flight (like at 6 AM), and after I passed through security, the handles of my then-current carryon luggage (Briggs & Riley) was permanently stuck in its extended position. No stores were

Bag Finder Megathread - 22 December 2025

I’m looking to replace my now-broken North Face Surge backpack. I plan to use the backpack for 1–2 day trips. It seems the sweet spot for me is the same volume as the Surge, around 25–29 liters (with 27L being my personal sweet spot). These are the personal features I'm looking for: 1-Luggage Pass-T

Help me choose an under‑seat “plane to boardroom” backpack (CRO, heavy biz travel)

Look into black ember, they have a similar vibe to what you're describing. Also I think the Aer travel pack 3 is too big for under seat. I have an Aer city pack, the small one, it's supposedly only 16l but it fits about as much as other bags that I have that are rated at 25l and it's the perfect max

Is the search for the perfect bag REALLY ever over? Lol

I got the AER TP2 small x-pack. It’s great but heavy. I have special needs for my EDC. I was using an old Briggs & Riley but it didn’t have a water bottle holder for my coffee mug at the end of the day. Then I was using the Fyro T22. The water bottle holder on that one kind of sucks too, and it’s on
