Best advice I can give you is to ask if your dad is even interested in using a machine like the Bambino. You mentioned he likes coffee, but does he like espresso? Or does he just want to make a quick cup of joe in the morning and be on his way? Does he actually like drinking and making lattes and ca

Breville bambino and SGP. I wouldn’t worry about the nitpickers, I have this setup and consistently outperform any of my local shops with delicious coffee every morning. The setup is solid and can be had for relatively cheap. I’m not convinced that the incremental gains beyond this setup are worth t

The Encore is not an upgrade from the Breville SGP. If your Breville SGP is still doing the job, stay with it.

Just to mention: CoffeGeek.com, to my surprise, found that the Breville Smart Pro Grinder actually can be quite nice, even at this point in time: https://coffeegeek.com/reviews/fullreview/breville-smart-grinder-pro-full-review/.

Its funny really because most people getting into this are told to go super high on the grinder end and while there is some validity to that, I think it also is a little OTT. The Breville Smart Grinder Pro does a great job. There is actually a video online by a coffee guy where he used a smart grind

Baratza Encore ESP, DF54, Fellow Opus, Breville Smart Grinder Pro You can also get some good manu

Ah okay. No worries, just curious because I’ve seen this a lot on this sub. I use a breville smart grinder pro for my GCP and love the grinder, but not sure if it’s the same mechanism as what’s built in the Sage. The ESP does look beautiful though, I would keep it just for the aesthetics personally

The Barista Express has a much better integrated grinder than the DeLonghi, which has wha, 15 grind settings? I’m not sure if that’s nearly enough range for espresso. The Breville on the other hand has the Smart Grinder Pro, which is sufficient for most cases, specially yours!

OK, so my feeling is first of all you shouldn’t be buying these through Amazon. I liked my Breville smart grinder pro. At the time, I didn’t think I was gonna upgrade if you plan to upgrade do not buy either of these go straight to a better grinder if you know what you like with beans and have a nic
