Bambino + Normcore as endgame
The second big, big flaw is temperature stability. You know how the Bambino has a PID set at 93c? That 93c is the target output temperature when water leaves the thermaljet. So at the beginning of the first real shot you pull today, when everything from the tubes to the showerhead, to the portafilte

Oracle Jet - updates?
No idea. I had an Oracle Touch, and "downgraded" to the Oracle Jet about 2 weeks ago. I'd say that's my primary challenge right now - dialing into my beans (Old Havana Medium-Dark Roast). I'm now on Grind Setting = 10, and it's still pulling at 7 seconds.... From experience, I go any lower, and it g

From Love to Letdown: My Breville Journey Ends with the Oracle Jet (and a Tamping Disaster)
I bought my Oracle Jet at the beginning of the year, after the NYTimes Wirecutter recommended it. I've been having problems ever since. Although it did an OK job with canned Illy beans, as soon as I bought better beans, everything tasted incredibly sour. Also, brewing by volume, I had to go well int

Volume or Time? Manual?-Another Oracle Jet Thread
Just for fun-take it for what it's worth-I asked ChatGPT about why the Oracle Jet favors a 1:3 recipe. I don't know how accurate the answer was, but here it is: ☕️ Why the Oracle Jet defaults near 1:3 That’s not a bug — it’s a marketing and consistency choice more than a barista one. 1️⃣ Targeting drin

Is the Oracle Dual Boiler worth the upgrade over a Barista Pro? [No Budget]
I can find oracle jets straight from Breville (Sage) in the UK, but I understand if they’re discontinued. If you’re asking me, my personal opinion is that for $3,000 it’s highway robbery, and with 20% off it’s still a robbery ($2,400?). I understand the want for automation. If counter space allows,

Sage Oracle Jet - single shot issue
I found another thread on Reddit with the same complaints. I received my Oracle Jet just a few days ago and although the grind had already been set for my particular coffee beans and made a good cup of coffee using the double dose basket, it didn’t work with the single dose basket. With the single,

Proud Mary Humble Coffee [$20]
it took me 3 attempts this morning. i have the Breville Oracle Jet and suggests 22 for the “roasted on” coffees and 28 for the grocery store coffees ”best by“ dates. I already had my grinder set at 22 for my previous “roasted on” fresh beans and worked well. However, it didn’t work at all for the Pr

My how-to on how to fix sour espresso with Touch Impress (My Workflow)
Why do you think that is? I’ve been working with the oracle jet for the last few weeks and think I’m dealing with the same issue using Counter Culture’s Fast Forward. I’ve heard the Breville’s don’t do well with lighter roasts but they never really go into why. Weird thing is I think I like a little

meraki vs. breville oracle dual boiler
I’m think I’m well suited to answer this question. I bought a Breville Oracle Jet (not exactly the same as the dual boiler but close enough) and after a couple weeks of owning it I returned it for the Meraki. The performance is night and day. First of all the milk steaming is probably 10 times bette

New dual boiler not available yet
Hm, looks extremely similar to the Oracle Jet, but they removed the physical grind knob (on-screen adjustment now I guess), shortened the grind funnel (presumably because they removed auto-tamping), should be able to pull a shot and steam at the same time, and added an on-screen pressure gauge. Also
