These are the only new businesses I ever see these days
And most of them are either bad coffee, crammed full of sugar, or both. Actually good coffee shops are getting hard to find. Edit: anyone that wants decent coffee at home the breville barista express is a good entry into espresso drinks. Can be had on sale for around $500. Mine is going on 6 years n

Purchases where spending more actually saved you money?
A good espresso machine. We bought a Breville Barista Express about 10 years ago. At the time I thought this was a crazy amount of money to spend, but my husband makes both of us an espresso drink almost everyday. The machine is still going strong and I think about how much money that has saved us c

Best espresso machines to buy in 2026? [$500]
Breville barista express often goes on sale for $500. It’s an all-in-1 that still makes great espresso. Or get the bambino and a good grinder

There goes my backpay...
As an officer and understanding this is a joke but not being able to let it slide… that’s too expensive for a Breville. The barista express is all you need and the touch screen/automation aspects actually make the machine worse. No high end machines are automatic. At work we have a $5k Jura automati

Your essential purchases for surviving residency?
Espresso machine. Recommend Breville Barista Express. Espresso shot on the way out the door is clutch in the morning (or pre night shift) and faster than making/drinking a regular coffee imo. A little pricey but pays for itself if you otherwise buy coffee/espresso drinks regularly and also fun to ex

Waking up sober is my single favorite reason not to drink.
I have zero regrets about my breville barista barista express. I've had it about 7 years and use it multiple times a day. It wasn't cheap but definitely got me into pouring guilt free shots lol

10 year journey to endgame: Barista ($699) > Rocket Chronometro ($3500) > Bambino ($399) > Baby Gaggia ($30)
It's been fun! I've enjoyed each of the machines for different reasons. The Breville Barista Express for its all-inclusiveness, the Rocket for its elegance, sturdiness, and quality, the Bambino for its compactness... I found the Baby Gaggia at a thrift store, and since it appeared to be in good shap

Espresso lovers, what's the best espresso machine that you've actually used and enjoyed?
If you're into doing it all yourself but dont have crazy money to fork out over 500 on a grinder as well than I highly recommend the breville/sage (depending where you are) barista express! Has a built in adjustable grinder that works pretty well. Been using it for 5 years and it was my starting beg
