The screens are more 1992 than 2025. Limited color space, slow refresh on the screen and the like. Any e-ink device will look deficient if compared to a modern tablet screen. The benefits are longer screen time and eyes that still feel great after a long reading session. The older tablet designs tha

You need size. 10 inches might work, but personally 13.3" like the Boox tab xc or the Boox note max would be a significantly better experience. If you can, scaling a printed copy of a page to the dimensions of whatever screen size you're looking at is your best way to get an idea of how well it will

I just watched another review on youtube and the UI on the Note A1 looks very similar to what Boox is doing on their eInk tablets. I'll now order the NXTpaper 11 Plus from Amazon and compare it with the Boox Tab XC. There are some very good reviews on reddit that compare the 11 Plus with the Note Ai

Note air 4C would be great, It's a 10.3 inch device Since you would require to read a lot you could have a look at the latest boox Tab XC which is a 13.3 inch device (on the pricier end) If you are fine with a b/w device , Boox note Max 13.3" would be the finest one out (it's the b/w version of tab

If I were you I would go for a Boox Tab XC or a Boox Note Max. I've been using my NA3C for a few years now, and I can confidently say that it is really good for anything university related. It is very versatile, works well, and it is slow enough so that I don't get distracted. Even if Boox looks les

Why not look for an actual eink display to use like dasung or Boox Mira? You can Boox go lumi for that purpose. It is one of the cheapest 10 inch with frontlight. 13 inch tablets will be a bit expensive though tab X c is your friend

I have the BOOX Tab XC and had tried the Note Air 5c but returned that one since I felt the XC can be better for PDFs and comics. I sometimes still feel like the XC is too big for taking around my house to journal, and the only protective case I found is 3rd party on Amazon and quite thick. It's a g

Then it sounds like a 10" b&w device would work for you. I am also in academia. I have the Viwoods Aipaper and am very happy with it. It would certainly work for you, as would the Boox Go 10.3. Keep in mind that these devices do not have a front light, so you will need exterior lighting. Any of the
