Idk why people keep complaining boox is complicated and it takes time to get used to it
If you figured out how to change the settings of the buttons, get rid of the store icon, reset where the home page will default to or how to rearrange the home screen quick button icons without searching for it then you are a tech wiz. I've used Boox devices before and couldn't for the life of me fi

Will Note Max get another update?
Works great? Wow. Here are just a few of the bugs I run into constantly: Worst ghosting I have ever had on an e-ink device (and I have a few). Every page of a document or notebook requires as full refresh (swipe) unless you are ok with all the remnants of the previous screen. This was made even wors

Proud new owner, and some questions...
I don't like the way BOOX has coded their full-page handwriting-to-text for some of those reasons. It doesn't recognise sentences that break across two lines, and treats each new line as exactly that: a new line. And it doesn't recognise a deliberately large gap as a paragraph break. I could search-

What would you like in a 7.8 inch display device?
I'd like a non-proprietary format for saving notes — for example using the PDF format. And using a PDF engine from one of the larger providers (say Adobe?) to ensure greatest compatibility. Not using whatever PDF engine BOOX is currently using, which is awful in so many ways. Similarly, using a non-

I want to get my wife an reader but she uses so many different apps/sites to read. What's my best option?
Seconding this. The ghosting and grainy newspaper like quality of the go color is a lot. It's not bad if you're actually using color. You can get over it when reading comics or books with children. I use color to highlight passages. It's fun, and relatively easy on my phone. But it's not worth it on

Need opinions on why I should choose the reMarkable Paper Pro over the Supernote Manta
Ghosting is when you can still see previous writing when you flip the page and you have to refresh the screen. SN has dedicated refresh strips on the L&R sides of the screen, though I never had a problem with it. I've not had any ghosting on the RM's. But that BOOX? Even with the manual refresh (and

So Is Rocketbook Going to Be Sold to a Different Comapny? (Discussion)
I moved on from Rocketbook a while ago mostly because the amount of work I had to do to fit the product into my workflow. Frankly, I am not sure there is much of a way forward that doesn’t include some sort of tablet device not unlike the Boox or the Remarkable. The concept is really good and I love

Note air 5c vs 4c vs go 10.3 for computer engineering student.
That's just BOOX marketing speak. Use an actual Kaleido 3 device next to the Go 10.3 and you'll instantly see that its rendering of a B&W page is clearly worse than an actual 300ppi display. So BOOX claiming that it operates at 300ppi in B&W is just false. The reason for this is that the colour filt

BOOX Firmware V4.2 is officially released to Tab X C, Note Max, and Tab Ultra C Pro.
Yes, that’s my biggest gripe with an otherwise very nice update. Apparently there’s no gesture for show/hide floating toolbar anymore. That’s really annoying. u/KennethWWWW is this a bug or intended behaviour? All in all the gestures navigation is the weakest point in the Boox OS. There is so much r

BOOX Firmware V4.2 is here! Community-driven updates and a new thread for feedback.
It just doesn't always clear when you open something else or turn a page. Granted it is a bit improved over what it was like in the initial release. I always have the navigation bar at the bottom now so I can do a quick refresh. It's mildly annoying but not enough for me to give up on it. I wish the
