Best e-ink tablet for heavy book PDF reading in a PhD?

  1. PDF handling — clean rendering, easy navigation, no fighting the device Boox and NeoReader is going to be best at this, e.g. it's very good at reflowing PDFs. 3. Annotation and highlighting — needs to work smoothly, and I would like to get highlights/notes out in a usable format. same for this. 4. Z

StarNote app is by Onyx international ie related to Boox!?!

So I gave it a few minutes' test drive, and found a few things. Nothing that can't be debugged and cleaned up, if the Devs really wanted to. It's not ready for a public announcement that "It's compatible, hooray!" yet, but it's better than anything we've ever had. Notebooks created in Notes, exporte

Cons or downsides to owning Boox

I'd say it depends entirely on your use cases and the models you are looking at. There are 12 current models of BOOX devices, which vary greatly in screen tech, size, stylus capabilities (capactive vs EMR vs USI), screen coatings, storage, and power. Trying to paint that variety with a single brush

should I trade in my boox go 7 (gen 2 BW) for the new go 10.3 gen 2?

The Go 10 is 2x as heavy as the Go 7 which for me is a no go. I love that I can pick up the Go 7 and read without the weight ever being an issue. Its about the weight of a cell phone. The Go 10 is the weight of a tablet. That's too heavy for me for long reading sessions. I still use my OLED tablets

Ordered from BOOX Shop-nothing arrived. Whats your experience?

There are users who have had bad customer service response but those have been from mostly unrealistic expectations. I've owned at least 8 Boox devices and think the quality is very good. The Note Max is one of my favorites. I'm hoping they make a version with frontlight sometime in the not toi dist

boox tablets for essay writing

I do that in a Boox Go 10.3 and a Boox Note Max. It works well. You notice a bit of lag, but it is not frustrating. And it is much easier on the eyes. I use mostly Google Docs and Simplenote to insure a good sync. You can also type on the native note-taking app and supposedly it flows better.

LARGEST e-ink display I’ve ever seen. How can I get one and jailbreak it for my books?

Old Boox Max Lumi 1 or 2 would be good choice. There's Max's older than that and the current Note Max do not have front lights, however. Tab X C is color 13". I have a Lumi 1 and Tab X C and can confirm reading comics and manga on it is awesome but they're pretty bulky devices haha Bigme has a 13" o

Tab x 13.3 vs Remarkable pro

Remarkable Pro’s first and foremost feature is writing, not reading. It is a niche product that is for people who want to write. It sounds like your goal is to read, and a bigger screen. Among these two options you listed, you definitely want Tab X C. (Not to be confused with Tab X, as pointed out i

reMarkable Paper Pro vs BOOX Note Air5 C for PhD/Postdoc?

If I were you I would go for a Boox Tab XC or a Boox Note Max. I've been using my NA3C for a few years now, and I can confidently say that it is really good for anything university related. It is very versatile, works well, and it is slow enough so that I don't get distracted. Even if Boox looks les

Note max TabXC or wait

If you know you want color, just go with the Tab X C. The recent firmware update took care of the major battery issue (it turned out the pen was getting constantly charged even when at full capacity) and it's got the broadest feature suite of any 13.3". The Note Max is sharper and brighter for text
