I am a big fan of .pdf books. these are my devices for reading pdf files 1 galaxy tab ultra for magazines 2 macbook air for skimming papers 3 ipad pro for textbooks 4 surface go for nonfiction 5. boox note air 5c for fiction and 6 kindle for manga I read pdf files exclusively and i don’t like epub

Wouldn't just a single boox note max 13.3 do the job with .pdf?

Looking for a large-screen e-ink device with the best writing experience (paper replacement)

College student here, bought a Boox Note Max and Supernote Manta at the same time, my priority was note taking and reading pdf’s. I was using an iPad at first but the eye fatigue was getting so bad I could only write on the iPad for a max of 2hrs at a time. Since I already had a workflow with the iP

Trying to do too much is not ideal

I think you are conflating the darkenss of the Kaleido colour screens -- there is no graying film applied on the BW devices. There is a textured film as you note. Your broader questioning seems to miss the entire point of BOOX, which is to NOT be Remarkable or SuperNote. What's the point of trying t

Recommendation for reading/studying

Two questions to consider I guess. Do you need access to the google play store or not ? Do you need color ? (Color devices in eink give quite light Colors and a darker screen) Based on what you said and if you don’t need the play store or color I would suggest Supernote either the nomad (smaller dev

reMarkable Paper Pro vs BOOX Note Air5 C for PhD/Postdoc?

If I were you I would go for a Boox Tab XC or a Boox Note Max. I've been using my NA3C for a few years now, and I can confidently say that it is really good for anything university related. It is very versatile, works well, and it is slow enough so that I don't get distracted. Even if Boox looks les

Ipad vs e-reader for reading and note-taking, after spending time using both devices I can safely say that the e-reader, BOOX Note Air 5C is better in almost every way. It feels more like paper, causes no eye fatigue, has far fewer distractions and offers much longer battery life

I primarily use a Note Max, mainly for reading academic PDFs and taking notes. I used to write those notes in paper notebooks, but now it's more convenient to do it on the Max. I mainly use native apps. You can install Android apps, but they're usually not optimized for e-ink displays and their perf

Looking for recommendations for a lawyer

Boox Note Max 13.3 has good writing "feel" and a large screen -- you can read letter sized PDF documents without zooming in. (Device size: ~11.3 x 9.6 x 0.18 inches). If you don't mind a smaller (but also less unwieldy) device -- also with a good writing "feel" -- Supernote A5X2. (Device size: ~9.9

eWritable suggests a better Tab X C could be released later this year

Boox launched the Tab Ultra C Pro just 5 months after the first Tab Ultra C, the writing feel was the same, but they also launched the Note Air 3C with better writing feel. If they launch a Tab XC Pro it might have some faster processor (not really in need, it is already super snappy and with absolu

The best ereader for academic papers

If OP needs color, then could be true. The Remarkable Paper Pro's Gallery 3 tech probably bests the Kaleido 3 panels on other tabs. For B&W, though, it's a toss up. A Boox Note Max with Zotero and Obsidian on board could provide an awesome workflow for academic papers.

Best e ink tablet for PhD?

If you mainly use it to write the most I’d get the Supernote (probably the manta). The digest feature is very good for academic reading but there is no split screen feature on the device If you need to read and write I’d take a Boox either the note max or the go 10.3 or if you need color the note ai
