I ended up getting a Boox Note Max. The user interface is a nightmare (way too many options, scattered all over the place…) — but I can take notes, upload third party Reader apps without sideloading, and use Kindle as an option.

Empecé con Boox go10.3 y tiene lo que buscas. Boox note max también porque es el mismo OS con tamaño mayor. Pero no es sencillo, jaja. Tiene mucha funcionalidad y creo que puede distrae. I would stay away from Boox because they make money selling new hardware not supporting old one. And ongoing support is critical on Android devices since otherwise apps can stop working. Also split screen is very clunky on my Note Max. Definitely not iPad levels of responsiveness.
