Biggest frustration with 4.1
Boox hardware is being seriously let down by the software. I have 3 premium Boox devices and can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt anymore (Tab X, Note Max, Air 4C). My Note Max felt abadoned within 4 months of release. Software is also non-inutitive and really not enjoyable to use.

If you had unlimited money, which would you buy?
Boox fanboys/company employees are a strange bunch. The company is absolutely dodgy shipping untested hardware at launch e.g 5AC and then abandoning it until they release a new iteration the following year. There is no long term support. Boox Note Max a year after launch still has major ghosting and

BOOX Firmware V4.2 is here! Community-driven updates and a new thread for feedback.
We'd like to be able to disable pinch to zoom in the Boox Notes app. Otherwise it starts zooming randomly while we write notes. You removed the button that disables pinch to zoom. Why? Please bring the button back. I returned my Boox Note Max because of that. I do like the fast mode in v. 4.1 and af

How portable are Boox notes? Cross notebook links seem to break when exporting
How portable are Boox notes? Not portable at all. It's a proprietary format. Like Hotel California, you can check out anytime you want, but can never leave. PDF export introduces many errors, including broken hyperlinks. You could try exporting to .note format instead of .pdf, and opening the file u

Boox, it’s 2026. Improve your damn Calendar app.
Valid point, and I agree with you - that’s actually acceptable. Maybe I did put too much emphasis on the stylus part. The real issue, though, is cloud calendar synchronization. That’s where the main problem lies. What makes the current Calendar app useless is that most of us (if not all) already rel

Firmware 4.1.1 - why did Boox remove the "HD" refresh mode on the Tab X C?
I returned the Boox Note Max because of this and other bugs like no option to disable pinch to zoom in the notes app in 4.1.1. The new Speed mode is very good though, it is very fast and clear with almost no ghosting.

Please Pin the Megathread Post
People say stuff like that here, about being forced to update devices and all, but lots of us are running devices that are long out of the update cycle, while running 4.1 just fine. And that 4.1 is way better than the 3.1 we had at purchase. That's pretty much the opposite of the populist claim. Now

E-Ink Tablet Comparison Table (decision fatigue)
I tried the Boox Note Max after rM Paper Pro, trying for a bigger screen. Size of Note Max is almost too big. I had lots of bugs that pushed me back to rM. I found apps to be not so useful on eink. I’d rather use my phone. I wanted to like OneNote but the refreshing made it not worth it. And the And

Advice for Artist getting first time e-ink drawing tablet
Professional digital artist here. Eink isn't ready for fully featured digital art. Colour accuracy and brightness is atrocious even with eye watering cost and colour accuracy comes at the cost of speed of refresh. Even then it isn't close to even cheap emissive screens. The best you've got is a devi

Boox, Fix your firmware! (Cannot disable pinch to zoom/touch control)
I’m having the same issues with my new Boox Note Max, and I’m seriously considering returning it. Writing in the Notes app feels unstable. Palm rejection isn’t reliable, and it keeps zooming accidentally while I’m trying to write. Erasing is extremely laggy in the Notes app. If I use a stylus with a
