Honest opinion about Boox Air 5C
I switched to boox air5c 2 weeks ago (from 2024 scribe). For me it’s an eye opener. Notes taking is completely different. It’s like unlocking a demo version to a full fleshed version. And using the google store makes the boox also more useful. Now I read comics via dc infinite and Libby, my old kind

Help please.
Tablets are best for color comics/manga because e-ink readers don’t show vivid color, and for a kid who loves manga and comics, tablets (like an iPad) definitely have more vivid colors and faster scrolling. However, E-ink readers are better for long sessions because they don't cause eye strain and c

BOOX Firmware V4.2 is here! Community-driven updates and a new thread for feedback.
We'd like to be able to disable pinch to zoom in the Boox Notes app. Otherwise it starts zooming randomly while we write notes. You removed the button that disables pinch to zoom. Why? Please bring the button back. I returned my Boox Note Max because of that. I do like the fast mode in v. 4.1 and af

Go 10.3 Lumi vs Note Air 5C
I had the Boox Go 10.3 for more than a year. I liked it a lot, but the lack of a front light was a dealbreaker for me. I then got the Note Air 5C, and a couple of days later the Go 10.3 Lumi was released. So I ordered the Lumi as well, to compare them and decide which one to keep. The Lumi has an in

BOOX Note Air5 C vs Amazon Kindle Scribe Colorsoft vs Apple iPAD
kinda had the same slow page turns on my old scribe. the boox air 5 c is a solid step up - the android processor makes everything snappy and the color screen is great for highlights. i've had mine for six months with no bloat issues, just keep the play store apps minimal. the note taking feels way c

Tech Professional seeking E-ink advice
For useful AI integration, the best is the Viwoods Aipaper, which also has the nicest screen available, but only in b&w. If you want color, go for the Boox Note Air 5C, which also is faster and more powerful than the Viwoods, although it does not have the extensive AI capacity. Remarkable is just fo

Thoughts on remarkable?
Lots of better alternatives. Viwoods Aipaper, Viwoods Mini, Boox Note Air 5C, Boox Go 10.3 Lumi, and others from Bigme and Supernote. They all run Android, are more powerful, have better screens, allow you to use apps, and are generally better priced.

Looking for e-ink monitor
Due to severe photophobia from nerve damage I use eink devices exclusively as i just can`t use lit screens like LCD or OLED at all. I have a Dasung 13k color and a Bigme B13. I use them for everything including watching video and even light gaming (mostly classic JRPGs). Both have different problems

PocketBook users: what matters most to you?
For me, the UI is the most important thing, not necessarily speed. I used to have an Onyx Boox running Android, and it was a nightmare. After switching to a Pocketbook, I started enjoying using it precisely because of the user interface, even though it runs slower than Onyx.

Choosing a e-ink tablet
SuperNote Manta would be my choice, but it has no front light. So, is a showstopper for me. Boox Note Air 5c I feel is currently the best solution for me, but not perfect. 4.2 improves a lot of things, but still can be buggy.
