Discoloration of Moaan Inkpalm 5 Mini screen
I've had that with my Onyx Boox Leaf 2, and if you search you'll find the issue for a lot of e-ink devices. I read a theory that it's the glue oxidizing or something like that.
Cases
Aliexpress:There's cute cases on Aliexpress but they are magnetic cases so I do not trust they will protect the device more like a aesthetic design search up "Twosheep Case for Boox Go7 Go Color7 GenII GenI Page Leaf3 Leaf3c 7-inch Magnetic Cover Auto Sleep Composition book style" on Amazon:- TUDIA ...
Let's talk Manga/Manwha setup
I don't have much of a "set up", I think, but currently I'm reading manga through Komikku, their own extension repo, and the Google drive sync feature to sync non-local entries from my phone to my ereader because it's easier to search and add to my library for me on my phone. Used to use J2K but it ...
Humble Tech Book Bundle includes two Rust books (Rust for Rustaceans and The Rust Programming Language)
I'm in the middle of reading "Rust for Rustaceans" on my Pocketbook Era. I'm really happy with that e-reader. You can also check out r/ereader. People will often recommend the Kobo Libra 2 and the Onyx Boox Leaf as well (although I vaguely recall concluding that the Onyx company was a bit shady, whe...
What's the WORST e-reader you've ever owned?
Onyx Boox Leaf 2 white. Fantastic screen, until it yellowed. Twice. The second time they didn't want to replace it under warranty. It was also very slow when doing anything other than reading. The first dictionary lookup every session was a pain, then it got going.
Best e-reader?
I would say the Onyx Boox Page is the best. Android is too much of a game changer for me at least. I currently own the previous model, Leaf 2. Both are functionally the same, the Page has slightly better specs, though. I like the functionality of the hardware as well. SD-card slot, buttons and glow ...
New e-reader that isn't Kindle
So there's not a perfect fit for your request. I do think a dedicated ereader such as Kobo, Kindle & Pocketbook are better supported, and nicer to use, for reasons that I explain here https://www.reddit.com/r/Onyx_Boox/comments/1gxrf31/comment/lyjck0r/ If you don't use some of the other apps frequen...

Opinion: Kobo eReaders no longer make sense in 2025
I loved my boox, but they have a huge issue with ballooning batteries that break the screen. I saw all the comments and posts about it, still been buying boox tablets, and my leaf screen broke like 2 years later cause of it. And of course warranty is expired by that point. I can no longer recommend ...
How to justify the Palma 2 as a WFH accessory
Try buying a model with "tab" or "tablet" in its name. This should classify it within the same category as an iPad, in terms of reimbursements. My experience with this kind of benefit reimbursement: Bought an Onyx Boox Leaf 2, claim rejected citing "e-readers are not covered under benefits". Bought ...
