This is probably fine.
It's not perfect, but you can get blink doorbells with a sync module and have videos stored locally for free instead of in the cloud like ring. It's still owned by Amazon and probably only a matter of time, but if it helps someone feel safer now it is an option.

Home security cameras without monthly payment
I had an Arlo system for a while before switching to Blink and honestly the subscription is so worth it and reasonably priced compared to other security systems. Unlimited 60 day cloud storage for $12/mo ($4/mo if you just have one device) is really good imo. I'm able to live record, motion detect r

Comcast internet-only: what is your charge?
I haven't noticed any change in my internet uses that would cause me to change or upgrade my plan. I actually use more internet now than I ever did because now I have replaced the "box" which provided cable TV with streaming on my TV thru free apps like Xumo, Tubi, etc. Also now I work remotely and

What are some inexpensive ways to secure my home and prevent break ins?
I live in an iffy part of town, my buddy described my house as “hood adjacent.” Here’s what I did: (1) Replaced the door hinge screws and strike plate screws with longer ones. Pretty much as long as I could (3-4 inches). (2) Found some 2x4s a neighbor was throwing away, cut them to fit in the groove

Security system for retirees?
Some people poo poo at this idea, but in terms of something that works on a basic level, the blink system on Amazon will work. The thing about this is it's not top of the line, but the battery-powered cameras are easy to install outdoors and have a fairly long battery life since they use AA lithium

Doorbell camera that doesn’t use internet and records straight to an as card
Blink with sync module will record straight to a USB stick in the sync module. The sync module connects to WiFi for the app but the doorbells actually have both a 2.4ghz WiFi and a 900mhz ISM band radio to talk to the sync module. WiFi and internet are needed for the app but crucially for me it work

What are my options for a good security camera with no subscription required?
An affordable option would be the Blink doorbell. Not the biggest brand name, but definitely a reliable and secure choice. You can get local storage without a cloud subscription if you pair it with the Sync Module XR. Im sure you know already , local storage has its downsides, limited space on the U

What are my options for a good security camera with no subscription required?
I use blink and it’s worked for my household needs. I have a doorbell camera and 3 outdoor cameras. I just use a USB stick to store any videos

Are there any easy to set up alternatives to Ring cameras?
The Blink camera systems from Amazon have worked really well for me, and they have indoor, outdoor, and doorbell options. There is a cloud subscription that you pay monthly that saves your videos for 60 days unless you delete them or save them otherwise.

Simple home alarm system suggestion (no subscription)
The Blink system. I have their indoor cameras, their outdoor cameras, and their Blink video doorbell. You set up as many systems as you want with their sync modules, and each sync module uses a micro SD card that records everything that happens. They have a subscription, but I do not use it, and you
