This is incorrect. I did a fairly thorough write up on it here. My doorbell cam has been running on the same batteries since that post and they still say full charge.

It's a lot to get into but the short answer is that my blink doorbell cam has had the same batteries installed for over a year at this point and the device status simply says "External Power Status: Good". 27V is not a concern. I just bought one from Costco. The 2.0 version and the camera is load within three seconds. Heck of a lot better than which required hardwired for every camera or doorbell and $100 a month for backup video. Blink is $100 a year and I’ll take that and their quality over Ring any day.
