My Kindle has retired - what do I get next?

Depends on brand and os But as you have a lot of Kindle books, I'm gonna focus on that. Another Kindle - basic choice, locked os, do not personally recommend. Now, on to what I actually recommend, the android based devices. Boox go series, either go 7, or go 6. 6 or 7 inches screen, both have note t

Doom on an eReader...

The Boox Go6 is far less powerful than the much newer Bigme B6 here but when I only need to read books, there's really no need for all these extra horses. It can be a huge distraction to have such extra functionality vs a potato that limits you (to focus on what's more important to me ie reading mor

What is so bad about Boox ereaders?

My experiences with Boox: Poke 4s: it's a 2nd hand. I had it returned (to the shop that sold it as a trade in for the next Boox) because the battery is simply too bad. Last maybe 2 days max. Because of the only very short time with it, nothing about its real merit can be said. Brand new Boox Tab Ult

Need E-reader recommendations!!

the only ones that fit your description are the Boox Go 6 Gen II and the Bigme B6. I am very reluctant to recommend Bigme to anyone because of the poor quality of their software engineering, and the Go 6 II has excellent handwriting support in addition to being cheap and having a clear, nearly ghost

Thought process for new ereader

you could consider a six inch android e-reader so that you can still get the nook app, like the boox go 6 or bigme b6 (though tbh the bigme b6 is kind of unpolished at times, dk about the boox but reviews seem ok?)

Torn between Boox Go 7, BigMe 6 & Kobo libra

I have a kobo libra color and a bigme B6 and I would not recommend the B6. It feels so laggy and a less enjoyable overall experience. I’d go with the Boox because I love having the buttons on the side and you can use the kindle app.

Bigme B6 color is so terrible

In the interest of helping OP rather than hating: Please search r/ereader and r/Bigme for threads about de-bloating the B6 - There's some really good information that will transform your device. I have one, and SOME of what you said is valid (bloatware, terrible battery life being my 2 main gripes).

Are Android e-readers actually too distracting?

Just install the minimum necessary and disable notifications, turn wifi off - but this is more out of necessity for battery life. In my case I installed Moon + Reader Pro, Google Drive and Files on my Bigme B6 (Color) because I already use them on my other tablets and the Bigme versions are a bit un

What are other alternatives to Kobo Clara and Libra under $200?

Kindle Basic! If you don’t need warm light, I highly recommend it. It’s my favorite ereader. It has the most paper like screen and it’s pretty affordable. I also just ordered the Boox Go 6 gen 2. Will report back if it’s good. I don’t recommend the Bigme B6 as it’s sluggish and you need to debloat i
