"Echoey" sound quality on new headphones
Indeed, the 4k dip accentuates the 1-2k boost even further. That said, a 4k dip in itself is quite common in headphones (or at least headphone measurements). A 4k dip alone would not cause this. Based on this measurement this is a really badly tuned headphone for its price. But Beyerdynamic usually

Are Cloud Alpha wired worth it today?
