Best headphones up to 200 euros to appreciate Opeth, Caligulas Horse, Haken etc

beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO X. Best Headphones I’ve ever heard. You’ll need a DAC and headphone amplifier to get best results. But bass, middle and especially the heights are so beautiful. They are open back and the soundstage is phenomenal. If you’re more the closed back type go with the 770 Pro X.

senheiser hd600 vs beyerdynamic dt900 pro x

I can’t speak to those exact headphones, but I’m a big fan of both Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic. I own Sennheiser HD620s and HD6XX, and Beyerdynamic DT-770 80ohm and DT-990 250ohm. Sennheisers usually need less EQ, but I prefer Beyerdynamic’s form factor once EQ’d. In the US, the HD6XX is a good, aff

Why can’t I get a crushing tone on my amp?

Beyerdynamic makes some really nice headphones. I have the DT 770 Pros (80 ohm), but I’ve always wondered if I should have gone with the 990 Pros, or maybe the 250 ohm ones because I hear so much high frequency hiss if I’m playing higher gain tones through headphones. I noticed this a lot when I use

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th gen + Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X (48 Ohm) - am I missing out?

That's a good match for the headphone amp in the 2i2. You wouldn't want the 250ohm version for example, the 2i2's amp wouldn't be able to drive them. They require a very low impedance output, like the Motu M2 has a .5ohm output on its headphone output compared to the 2i2's 50ohm output. This isn't a

Finally put it all together!

I have a pair of JBL Eon 610s setup here. They’re nothing amazing, but enough to sound like drums. When I played out more and hooked it up to a full PA system, they definitely sound and feel like a real drum set. The hardest part of getting it ‘real’ is a good, deep & punchy sub that can give a good

(Noob) prefer dt 770 pro over pro x

A quick test definitely isn't enough to judge -- your brain needs time to adjust to new headphones. That said, considering you can't really test them in duration without losing your ability to return -- maybe stick with the DT-770 80ohm. I have the DT-770 80ohm and DT-990 250ohm. I love these headph

Legit Check Request Please

Hopefully you can tame that piercing treble. It’s easier to cut highs than to force sub-bass from headphones that can’t reproduce it, which is why I think a DT-990 with EQ might outperform an HD6XX/650. The 990s seem to handle sub-bass boosts better, though it’s hard to compare directly without two

DT 990 Pro 80 ohm or 250 ohm

According to Beyer, the 250 ohm and 32 ohm sound the same and just require different levels of power... But the 80 ohm actually sounds different. Check out their blog post: https://blog-en.beyerdynamic.com/headphones-in-comparison-dt-770-pro-vs-dt-990-pr/ The difference is 250 and 32 have a three-pa

770 Pro 80ohm vs 770 Pro X

In my experience the long straight cable of the DT-770 80ohm has some issues with physical transfer of noise. Luckily it's ridiculously long, and you can braid it like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/1lpxhqi/got_a_new_dt_770_pro_cable_was_too_long_so_i/ The coiled Beyer cable is much better

Studio-staple headphones?

I was on a quest for the perfect headphone and ended up liking quite a few. Between working from home and audio work, I often spend 10+ hours a day in headphones, sometimes ~15. I gave up the quest because I no longer believe there is a 'perfect headphone' and that any decent headphone a person gets
