under 250 theres a few routes you can go depending on whether you want open back for better gaming audio or closed back to avoid mic bleed. open back options like beyerdynamic dt 900 pro x and sennheiser hd560s are really good for fps footsteps and wide soundstage. both run fine without an amp but y

MMX 330s are tuned for gaming (FPS). Yes you can EQ the DT900 Pro"s to the same level but out of the box the MMX 330s are better, especially for footstep audio. Even compared to the DT 1990 Pro MKII I can pinpoint footstep directions easier with the MMX 330 Pro in BF6 and the Mic is fantastic.

I second Beyerdynamic. Dt900 pro x feels like a wall hack in comparison to most mainstream brands. I used to own steelseries because they tend to be lighter (and therefore gentler on my neck muscles after long sessions) and they were decent. Every proper open back headphone will have more separation and spacial awareness than any 'gaming headset' so just go for an open back headphone in your price range. My personal fave are BD DT900 pro x but I think theres also some Fame clones of some Beyerdynamics models that sound pretty good for a

If you get a good pair of headphones that check all the boxes you need for gaming you don’t need to EQ HD490 Pro and The Aryas and the DT 900 Pro X are great examples of this they already have amazing detail, imaging and soundstage some better then others Aryas>HD490>DT900 Pro x. As someone who has
