Mashed potatoes

Discard your oxo masher Obtain a Bamix immersion blender (yes, it’s worth it; no, I’m not sorry) Eat mashed potatoes every day for weeks Move on to soups, sauces Realize you have a butter addiction and you have to buy new pants Go back to jacket potatoes?

Immersion blender for flash blending: good enough?

I've got a bamix immersion blender, it has a disc attachment for flash blending. I think using the blade will just turn it into a slushie. Fine for Pina coladas and the like but not so great for tiki cocktails

What are your favorite blenders?

Stand blenders from what I always read that's Vitamix. Years ago I went into a rabbit hole to figure out what the best immersion blender is. That's Bamix. Incidentally the inventor of hand blenders back in time. Who since have chosen not to join the enshittification to further profits, and still pre

Blue Home Apparaten van Albert Heijn - Ervaringen, reviews?

I was actually positively surprised by their immersion blender. I’ve had a 160 euro Bamix for a while, which died right after the guarantee period ended. It had way less power than the on from the ah. I’m also quite happy with the little mill attachment. I don’t use it often, but it can actually bot

Sales on Aer Disc Container?

I'm not sure but I think the NFA-rated container, which is 32-oz. instead of 48, is somewhat cheaper; you can find it on Webstaurant. Unless you have an Ascent Series blender, it should be fine. Which base is your blender? I'm going to add that if you're in the market for an immersion blender, there

Spice/Herb Grinder Recommendations

We've always used knives or the herb and spice attachment for the bamix immersion blenders at school and at work, or robot coupes for larger batches, basically just the chopper part of a food processor. At home I usually just get dried herbs or chop by hand, never felt the need for something else, b

Cooking snobs: You were cooking in someone else's kitchen. What were you shocked to find they didn't have?

I’ve always considered an immersion blender a kitchen essential after buying one on a whim in my twenties. Upgraded to a Bamix five or so years ago. Damn I love that thing. I was shocked to see it didn’t make it into the “winners at a glance” for serious eats.

What’s the best practical gift you’ve ever received (or given)?

I got given an immersion blender (bamix) when I turned 21. I'm 38 and I still use it multiple times a week. Make smoothies, blend soups, it's so handy and quick to wash
