Kitchen Gadget

i’ve got a Bamix immersion blender that I actually gave to my mother as a present in 1984 and inherited after her passing. It still works and it’s absolutely fantastic.

Anyone else have an item that’s lasted forever, but you secretly want it to die so you can buy a new one?

Two things: Our immersion blender from Braun. It' gave up after 15+ years. Now I'm finely an owner of a Bamix. Our 20 years old steam generator iron from Philips. It just continues to work. Even though I've not taken good care of it. I want to switch to a semi professional steam generator iron, bit

Always wondered why my older coworkers call an immersion blender a “burr mixer”

Bamix is the best immersion blender you can buy. I've had mine for 30 years. They may be confused and combining burr grinder and immersion blender.

Immersion blender woes..

Bamix professional immersion blender. To reinforce and extend its longevity: wrap the electrical chord with electrical tape, especially at the top of the wire connected directly into the device. Also reinforce the button by wrapping electrical tape around the buttons and the body of the immersion bl

I have to say goodbye to my Braun immersion blender. I can’t complain too much- got it in 1986. Any suggestions? Any particular models I should look for?

Bamix/ESGE is probably the most BIFL, but from a usability standpoint they’re really not a good fit for most home use cases imo. I’ve always used Brain immersion blenders too and the modern ones are still a great choice for occasional home use

What are your favorite blenders?

Stand blenders from what I always read that's Vitamix. Years ago I went into a rabbit hole to figure out what the best immersion blender is. That's Bamix. Incidentally the inventor of hand blenders back in time. Who since have chosen not to join the enshittification to further profits, and still pre

What’s NOT worth spending money on in the kitchen?

My Bamix immersion blender is a workhorse and is one of the best kitchen purchases I've ever made. I love that thing.

Blue Home Apparaten van Albert Heijn - Ervaringen, reviews?

I was actually positively surprised by their immersion blender. I’ve had a 160 euro Bamix for a while, which died right after the guarantee period ended. It had way less power than the on from the ah. I’m also quite happy with the little mill attachment. I don’t use it often, but it can actually bot

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?

I dunno if these are offensively expensive, but good kitchen tools will last a "lifetime" I have Bamix immersion blender, anskarum kitchen machine, Tojiro kitchen knifes, BlendTec blender, Microplane, Carbon steel pans, WMF and Le Creuset pots and most of these items are over 10+ years old with no s
