TIL that there is a correlation between gas stoves in households and the development and/or worsening of asthma.
I agree that those internally venting fans are largely useless. For people in apartments I instead usually recommend a HEPA air purifier in the kitchen. But even those are likely only taking care of PM2.5 particulates and not VOCs unless it is a high end and bulky one that has 10s of pounds of activ

I just adopted a cat and the smell is making me reconsider.
I legitimately have no clue what people think when they say pine pellets smell the least. As someone sensitive to smells (cats in particular but I have 4), HELL NO this could not be worse advice lol. My house smelled like a barn (hyperbole, but much worse) when trying pine despite the boxes being in

Clogged HEPA filter and how to fix it.
If you are looking to filter primarily VOCs I would look into the AustinAir Healthmate line. They come with 15 lbs of activated carbon filters. Most regular air purifiers don’t have that much carbon in them that you will have to replace the whole filter much more quickly to work against VOCs.

Is the IQAir 250 XE overkill for 55m³?
I’d ask yourself if you need a good all around air purifier or one that’s really good for odors/vocs but meh for particles. If you want all around, go with the healthmate plus. If you are just concerned about gases, go with the GC Multigas. I have both and prefer the healthmate plus for its superior

Wanting to add a third purifier is this overkill?
Worth looking into particulates vs gases and seeing what you're trying to treat. Pollen is a particulate and the kind of purifier you're talking about will help, but cooking odors might not be, in which case what you really want is something like the Austin Air Healthmate or Austin Air Healthmate Pl

Urgently need VOC removal for exterior wood staining
I have experience with chemicals and VOCs. Glad to see you are staying out of this toxic environment. Definitely recommend what other user said, staying somewhere with friends or hotel. You don't want your body to TILT (toxic induced loss of tolerance) and end up like me with severe sensitivities to

best option for clearing odor in room
An air cleaner with a whole bunch of activated charcoal will likely work. Austin Air health mate plus is an example.

$300 carbon air purifier with active carbon
I found a%/ samsung cube AX300T9080W air purifier on marketplace for $80. Got the filter on Amazon for 55. Also found a Austin air healthmate 450 for $100. The filters for those are expensive but they are legit. I know people lately have had quality control issies but I haven't had any problems. The

best air purifier for odor - what actually works?
okay so i spent way too long researching this same problem last spring and the short version is: most air purifiers marketed for odor are kind of a scam unless they have a substantial activated carbon stage, not just a thin carbon-coated pre-filter. the rabbit hole i went down led me to compare the

Cons of DIY air purifiers
HyperHEPA + pre‑filters - trapping ultrafine particles (<0.003 µm) Non-HEPA setups capture these too. Particles less than 0.3µm are captured differently than larger particles. They are not filtered per-se. They bump into and stick to fibers in the filter. Lower air speed improves effectiveness, thou
