You can replace the amp on your HD6. I just did it and it is working fine now. This link is for the Australian site, but I'm sure support will sell you a replacement wherever you are. https://www.audioengine.com.au/products/p/replacement-amp-for-hd6

I have a pair of roughly 9 year old AudioEngine HD6 powered speakers that all of a sudden have started making this horrible buzzing sound at 96 dB any time they are turned on (even with no inputs plugged in). Any idea what's wrong with them? Is this something that can be repaired or am I in the mark

Razer clio and leviathan v2
Sorry you haven’t had any luck. I like mine. No issues with a Leviathan v2 Pro or when I switched to an AudioEngine HD6 speaker with subwoofer. I don’t use it all the time, but gaming has been zero issues.
