Just went through Poet vs Empyrean 2 comparison (duo pads). Ended up getting Empyrean 2. On bass, I'd say they are pretty equal. Poet has plenty of omph, great extension, and decent clarity. Empyrean 2 lifts that clarity and slightly supresses extension. Both will give you nice physical feel of bass
