Hey there. I have an Asus ZenWiFi ET9 mesh network. My house is a fairly large sidesplit very spaced out. About 50 yrs old. Lots of walls and and things that were somewhat of a challenge. One ET9 is the router and 3 moreI have connected by wired backhaul on different levels of the house. I ran cat 8

Cheap Router/mesh system for Apartment

u/crispysmoove I agree with u/TheImmortal_TK that ASUS would be a solid pick for you. BTW I have the slightly older ASUS XT8 mesh system and it works well in wireless backhaul, as it's tri-band WiFi 6 (2.4/5/5ghz bands). One of the 5ghz bands is dedicated to mesh traffic and the other 5ghz is just f

Heads up- Asus zenwifi et9 on deep discount

Thanks for the post! Great deal for the right scenario. If someone could use wired backhaul (ethernet) for connecting mesh nodes, I think this system would work well. Or if someone wanted to add WiFi 6E wired Access Points to an existing internal network, this is a fantastic option at only $99 for b

Best Simple Mesh option

No worries. In that case I’d try a tri-band mesh system (like ASUS XT8, as I suggested). It has two 5ghz bands (one for clients, one for wireless mesh comms) so clients get full bandwidth on 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Since the rooms are right next to each other and there’s probably only one wall in the way,

Which router should I get

If you can wire the mesh units together with ethernet, the ASUS ET9 mesh system (WiFi 6E) would work well and is only $99 for a two pack right now: https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/whole-home-mesh-wifi-system/zenwifi-wifi-systems/asus-zenwifi-et9/ ASUS claims a coverage area of up to 5

Dream Router 7 or Asus BT8/BT10

I agree. A 2-pack of the BT10 mesh units is $549.99 at Amazon right now. The 2nd cheapest price I see is an “open box” 2-pack on eBay for $429: For used hardware! TP-Link WiFi 7 mesh systems are cheaper, but they’re made by TP-Link - don’t like their subscription model for security features. If you

Should I get a mesh network?

Hi u/carrootscaps - I’m a different person than who you replied to but I think I can answer the questions. “True mesh” and “marrying” means a system built from the ground up to be a mesh system, with client handoff between mesh nodes. “Handoff” ensures if you are using a device that moves around the
