Turned spare routers into a wireless extender setup, free home lab win
Nice job repurposing old hardware, but one thing to keep in mind is security. Be very sure that the router (your interface between the internet/outside and your intranet/inside network) is still receiving firmware upgrades and is supported by the manufacturer. This ensures any exploits/bugs/etc. tha

Wifi 6 router recommendation?
I bought an Asus RT-BE92U recently to replace (sort of) a pair of Asus ZenWiFi XT8 in an AiMesh. It's WiFi 7, 4 x 2.5Gbps LAN ports and 1 x 10Gbps WAN, Tri-band WiFi (very important for AiMesh imho) It's now my router and master node for my AiMesh, with the old XT8s now being (actually quite good) n

MESH for Converge
Nova has 10/100 Mbps ethernet ports so it is most likely the bottleneck. Any mesh that has 1G / 2.5 Gbps ethernet port should work fine. Just make sure you use the proper ethernet cable too. As for me I’ve tried Deco M4R, TP-Link HB710 and Asus XT8. They work great. Make sure your ONT/ONR/modem is i

New YouFibre 2000 install – only getting ~860Mbps
I had basically the same thing with me old router. Asus ZenWiFi XT8 with a 2.5Gbps WAN port. Confirmed this via the data light colour (I think it was orange = 2.5Gbps, green = 1Gbps) on the ONT. I had the 900Mbps package and got around 920Mbps. I upgraded to 2Gbps and then only got 860Mbps or so. I

2 person home: we can't ever need WiFi 6 / 6e, right?
If your current router isn't getting firmware updates anymore, consider upgrading. You can stay with Wifi 5 if you want.. just buy a used router that is compatible with 3rd party firmware like dd-wrt, openwrt or fresh tomato. Then you'll have current firmware on the router with security updates. I'm

Best WiFi Mesh UK
I use Asus ZenWifi XT8 mesh system (3 nodes) - detached house - all working flawlessly (cat 6 for ATV/Macs/gaming and wifi 6 for iPhones/security cameras etc.). Think there is a newer version of this one now though so have a check. Totally happy with performance and speed. EDIT - all nodes are CAT6

New to home networking
I've got Asus AiMesh (it was called that before the recent AI boom) and it works very well. I have an RT-BE92U as my main router and then two ZenWifi XT8's and an RP-AX56. I had the ZenWifi's before buying the BE92U in AiMesh and upgraded to the BE92U and kept the old routers to expand my coverage.

In the market for router
I found it a humorous you mentioned you want WiFi 6 for "future proofing." FYI WiFi 6E and WiFi 7 have already been released, so WiFi 6 is already "in the past". BTW, it's not really possible to future proof, as the future keeps changing... 😇 Between the 3 routers you listed, you can choose the one

Asus Zenwifi BT8 vs BT10
I would NOT buy the BT10. I think $999 for mesh is way too costly. I'm a bit of a frugal person, so even $549 seems like a lot for three BT8 units. Interesting that Best Buy doesn't call it BT8, but if you compare the specs to ASUS's website for the BT8, it looks like it's the BT8 at Best Buy for $5

WiFi help needed/returning decos
The ASUS XT8 mesh system has worked well for me. It's only WiFi 6 (still has lots of life left in it; WiFi 7 is still fairly new, not well established yet in my opinion) and I think WiFi 6 is a good value right now. It's on this list as best WiFi 6 mesh: https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best-wi-fi-me
