Tried to install linux but anciently deleted everything? What now?

you could make a arm64 windows installer USB on another system, and try to reinstall windows. then try again Personally I would not buy a windows Arm laptop and expect it to work well as a Linux system. at least not without a lot of research first to verify it's doable. It might be that device can't

Rookie question Is there any problem getting a snapdragon processor for laptop for basic usage?

You're on r/snapdragon, thus there's always some bias towards Snapdragon processors. However, users have reported issues with the screen flickering when enabling VT (Virtualization Technology) on c

Why doesn't Apple have any normal competitors in the laptop space?

'Performance Per Watt' is Apple's marketing claim. It does that because it's all it's got. In reality, an Apple ultraportable with a large battery can hit about 30 hours of battery thanks to the harmony of software and hardware. I'm not sure where you got x86 is dying from. Intel and AMD would disag
