Firefox dev says Intel Raptor Lake crashes are increasing with rising temperatures in record European heat wave — Mozilla staff's tracking overwhelmed by Intel crash reports, team disables the function

Yepp. My Asus vivobook 16 pro with a 13980hx hasn't received a bios update since March 1st 2024. It has rampant app crashes and bsod's when I play any game that's even slightly new. Most recently with expedition 33. I have to purposefully run the system in silent or normal mode. Any of the power pro

What happened to my laptop?

It got dropped. Vivobooks aren’t particularly long lasting laptops too, just like all other asus laptops. I guess you can either continue using it or sell on marketplace as is and get another laptop.

Opened my brand new computer to this.

Old asus laptops last much longer than their modern ones. ROG and zenbooks vivobooks etc are to run away from. Theres absolutely no QC and customer “support” will either do nothing or scam you.

I'm so done with this 9800X3D + MSI PRO B850 crap. Burned TWO CPUs and TWO motherboards in 6 months. What would you do?

Yeah i also experienced so many problems with Asus. One row of my Office PC back IO is not working after some windows update about a year ago or so (Asus Prime B450M AII + Ryzen 5 4600G, PSU is Corsair SF450 Platinum). And to make it worse, its the one with ethernet port in it. So the LAN, and 2 USB

Are asus laptops good?

My rating is 2/5. My Asus Vivobook 15 2020 edition has worked amazing over the past 6 years. However there was one annoying issue where the camera wouldn’t work right and show some green and gray bars randomly. ASUS support didn’t help at all with it, even after sending it to them for repair. It wou

Thoughts on this laptop?

I have a Vivobook 15 M1502IA, with a Ryzen 7 4800HS and 16 GB of RAM, and if this laptop is anything to go by, that i9 13900H in that little guy will absolutely cook in there and not reach full performance These machines tend to be built cheaply and like to have the hinges break in not very long, I

Any advice on how to pick laptops that don't physically wear down and will last a long time?

You can't really go by brand itself. Let's take a brand that I have a love/hate relationship with, ASUS produces so much junk it's maddening, their Gaming laptops burn down and are poorly designed, then you look at Zenbooks which suffer from QA issues making them hit or miss, then you look at the so
