Truth or myth -- At SGD849, MacBook Neo is a "sucker" product to get more people into their ecosystem?

Which Amd workhorse? Alot of AMD laptops in this price range aren't even real 7000 series laptops. They have shitty processors like the Ryzen 5 7520U which strangely is only 4 cores and Zen 2 only? Also MacBook Neo has very strong single threaded performance which is what most people need. Screen an

Charging issue aghh~~

A bunch and bunch of issues. You can have a quick look in r/asus and read all the horror stories you want. To cite a few : cooling on older models (I don’t know if it’s still the case but 2023 zenbooks and vivobooks and tufs had that) may just stop working and turn the laptop into an overheating doo

I don't get framework

You bought into a different market. Like it or not, technology has now become a very unstable market thanks to speculative investment. The difference in price is mostly accounted for by the difference in RAM and NAND flash pricing. Some of it is in the fact that FW is a much smaller OEM than Asus an

Kalau pengguna awam, mending ambil Asus ba

Laptop for PhD?

I would go for any of the Macbook Air models you listed. If you can afford 24 GB RAM, go for it. (24 GB would probably be overkill for your current needs, but you should consider it only for longevity concerns). The processor power between M4 to M5 is not that big of a jump, though, so unless the ca

Thoughts on this laptop?

I have a Vivobook 15 M1502IA, with a Ryzen 7 4800HS and 16 GB of RAM, and if this laptop is anything to go by, that i9 13900H in that little guy will absolutely cook in there and not reach full performance These machines tend to be built cheaply and like to have the hinges break in not very long, I

Any advice on how to pick laptops that don't physically wear down and will last a long time?

You can't really go by brand itself. Let's take a brand that I have a love/hate relationship with, ASUS produces so much junk it's maddening, their Gaming laptops burn down and are poorly designed, then you look at Zenbooks which suffer from QA issues making them hit or miss, then you look at the so

Thinking about buying an ASUS Vivobook 15 - worth it?

Honestly, I would not. I currently have a vivobook 15, and I've had it maybe two years. The battery life is absolutely awful. Fully charged, it says I should get about 5 hours, but I'm lucky if I get one and a half-two, and that's just with internet browsing and document work, so nothing strenuous.

Is it true most laptops don’t last 6 years or more?

My old laptop (Asus Vivobook 15 N580VD from 2017, bought in early 2018) is still alive and well, but I had to replace the lid because the hinges broke, one after two years and one after 3 years. And because I didn't trust a repair shop to fix it after reading horror stories about scams in the repair
