I'd consider the ASUS ZenWiFi BD5 Outdoor. It is pricey for an "outdoor" unit, but you could always install it indoors. The RT-BE96U is one of Asus' Extendable Routers with AiMesh, so if you stay with that platform, it should be stable and setup should be simple. All of Asus' AiMesh stuff will work
