14,000 routers are infected by malware that's highly resistant to takedowns - Ars Technica

I've had to replace the ASUS RT-AX86U Pro (AX5700) Dual Band WiFi 6 Extendable Gaming Router twice at one location for odd behavior that I couldn't get rid of after being used for a few months. It was being used strictly as an Wifi AP behind a different brand firewall but it wouldn't let any of the

Thoughts on the ASUS TUF BE3600?

I bought a TUF BE3600 2 weeks ago and pretty happy with its performance based on its price, I have a 500mbps fttp at home, it can reach the whole house, and can get around 250-300 speed at the far end. Last week I bought a BE86u as I have seen so many compliment on AX86U, double the price than be360

Founders Plan 2GB speed tip (QOS)

Thanks for the tip OP. I got the 2Gbps plan and I am still waiting for my new router to arrive that will handle it, a Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Max. For now I am stuck with my Asus RT-AX86U that only supports 1Gbps and it wasn't even getting that with QoS enabled.

I can't stand that Steam Remote Play is in that bad shape for so long

For real? I have an ASUS rt-ax86u. It streams great for like 10 minutes and then I get the red signal thing and it completely craps out. Can’t play whatsoever. I’ve tried EVERYTHING. And my computer is hardwired.

Enabling access to VLANs from Main Network to PiHole?

I did but still not allowing traffic to the VLANs unless I enable access intranet. After some digging it appears you can’t allow only port specific traffic on this RT-AX86U router unless I flash to Merlin

Roku Ultra (2024) constantly loses WiFi connection

Router is an Asus AX86U Pro. My home network is solid…I configured it myself and I know what I’m doing 🙂 The Roku is connected to the 5GHz band only. I’ve isolated 5 and 2.4 on their own separate networks. My 2.4 band is reserved only for my IoT devices that don’t have 5GHz radios. The Roku says “ex

ControlD DoT suddenly stopped working — other DoT works fine

I'm using 76.76.2.40 and 76.76.10.40 (x-hagezi-normal.freedns.controld.com) using DOT and everything stopped working on my Asus AX86U. Where or how do I find the correct 'Bootstrap IPs' to get this working again? These are the free servers by the way.

My overwhelmingly positive experience with Aquiss

The router is a ASUS RT-AX86U Pro and has the speed test feature on it, so I do my tests direct from the router. Just done one now, download is 893 upload is 850. This is where it becomes an issue. Its using Ookla and connects to the 20i Ltd Nottingham server. I just did a scan a min later and now i
