NBN upgrade has made me find out how many bad cables I have
I'm loving my Wifi6 Asus RT-AX86U. The signal is strong across the entire house (where I used to need multiple access points) and I can use all the bandwidth of my new 500/50 plan almost everywhere.

VPN and ESIM Megathread – May 2026
I bought the Asus RT-AX86U pro on JD. I installed Astrill vpn on it. Still has an applet. I’m not really tech savvy but can follow directions. It took me a couple of hours. It works well at steaming almost anything I throw at it.

Fixed Tapo camera network issues with Asus router (Asus RT-AX86S + Tapo C101)
I will add this for context. I have an RT-AX86u pro router. I also set the 2.4 ghz bandwidth to 20. This is my setup. It is slightly different than the OP’s. I have 5 cameras and have never had drop out problems. I usually have 70+ devices connected at any given time. I think disabling roaming assis

Greenlight!
When I got Greenlight four years ago you had to buy your own router. I bought a Asus RT-AX86U and nearly choked on the price, But it has been worth the money. It has been very reliable, can handle the speed, has great WiFi range and has lots of really useful features that cheaper routers don’t have.

Optimum - have you purchased your own modem?
Yes. If you are unaware how to set it up, it’s not too difficult with a little research. You will need to have optimum activate it, but I believe you can do this online without calling anyone. It depends on what speed you have which modem /router you’d want. But I’d highly recommend not getting an a

Which Asus router ASUS RT-BE92U OR ASUS RT-BE88U?
I have been using a RT-AX86U Pro for a few years and have been very happy with its performance. I use their AiMesh on 2 nodes with wired backhaul. This combo gives me nice WIFI coverage on 3 floors. You cannot go wrong with ASUS.

Good Wi-Fi Router in 2026. Any recommendation?
I have an Asus RT AX86U Pro that works great as well. I have a two story 4 bedroom house with a basement. The router is in the basement. I get coverage everywhere. Upstairs in the main bedroom I get 495Mb on my iPad. I have 500Mb service.

Finally got own router installed and ditched Hub Pro
A lot of youfibre customers could do themselves a massive favour by simply ditching the supplied router, as they are barely adequate. Middling performance. I have two ASUS RT-AX86U Pro, for full house coverage, and they perform flawlessly.

Cat6/ethernet in New Build?
Apart from ethernet cables, it is also important to use a proper router, such as Asus RT-AX86U (wifi-6) or Asus RT-BE86U (wifi-7).Not the cheap crap like the Vodafone Gigabollox, that can only do 5GHz.Or the out-dated Fritz!Box stuff from the likes of Digiweb and PureTelecom.
