Wow! Thank you for mentioning this. I have RT-AX58u V2 which I bought with intention to install merlin, but I then found out there are 2 hw versions of it and I got 2nd which is unsupported.

Is there a router that really supports Time Machine backups to an attached HD?
The Asus RT-AX58U works okay with an attached drive. My only concern is that uses HFS+ (instead of APFS) and starting from macOS 26 won’t be supported anymore. Not sure if Asus will update this (but I don’t believe they will).

I think it's my Asus RT-AX58U router with the Merlin firmware. Leaving Lan Port 4 blank for my switch connection I couldn't even access the internet or my router ip. But by changing it to VID>40 or other number the speed test are good but ping test is pretty terrible and webpages load very slowly wh
