Looking for a new router supporting DD-WRT.

I decided to go with ASUS RT-AX1800S instead. Turns out this router is rock solid with stock firmware and provides all the features I need. It has up to 3 separate guest networks, one of which I set up as IOT. It also allows me to use a custon DNS server (I use Pihole for DNS) and it is super good a

Replace older router for better coverage

I went with ASUS RT-AX1800S (Works great, cheap, and supports Open-WRT)Other notes:- The new router only supports ethernet. Prior to my upgrade, the verizon router was connected to the ONT via coax. Not sure if the Ethernet port in the ONT work prior to upgrading, but check BEFORE you order the new

What router would you recommend for my situation?

It definitely is not IMO. Mikrotik is a lot of fun and you get a ton of hardware for the price, but it's like being dropped in a foreign land without knowing the language and it doesn't act like any other common router interface, even with regards to verbiage, so online guides will be more scarce. Just Quick Router Suggestion

My recommendation for a low budget, small apartment, living alone router if money is tight: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-AX1800-Router-RT-AX1800S-Subscription-Free/dp/B09M9477NS/ But if you can at all afford it, you actually get much better value in the mid-tier in terms of longevity of usefulness an

Looking for router alternatives after TP-Link concerns

asus is usually solid. had the rt-ax1800s for a while, no issues. firmware updates keep it secure. worth a shot if you're switching from tp-link.

Looking for router alternatives after TP-Link concerns

Yeah I've been running the RT-AX1800S for about 8 months now and it's been rock solid. The web interface is way better than TP-Link's garbage too, actually lets you configure stuff without wanting to throw it out the window

Do I have the right idea to get an access point?

I’ve done bit of looking and my question is would installing an access point like TP-Link Festa F52-Wall, AC1200 would help? Like plan is to set it up somewhere on the 3rd floor, connect the existing Ethernet cable running from the 1st floor to it, buy a second cable to then run from the AP to my PC

Good to know: Inspiron 15 5570 has a network adapter dating back to Stone Age.

I am years too late, but my wife has a Dell Inspiron 5570. I finally upgraded our internet at home to be a bit faster, so I decided to replace my ASUS RT-AC1200 router. The ASUS RT-AC1200 router features Fast Ethernet ports, meaning it does not support Gigabit (1000 Mbps) speeds (4 x RJ45 10/100 Mbp

WiFi AP for shared house

For good value see what sort of router you can get locally that's wifi 6 (802.11ax) and double check that it has an option to enable access point mode. For e.g. locally I can get ASUS RT-AX1800S for $69 USD or TP-Link Archer AX1800 for $49 USD The ASUS supports their AiMesh system, and the Archer AX
