I have two setups at home. One for work (KTC M27P6 and MSI 274updfe16m) and one for gaming/personal stuff (oled/Asus Pg27ucdm). Colors across all three is excellent. HDR is excellent. Black levels are excellent too but perfect on the PG27UCDM. In mostly black or dim situations the minileds can have

The highlights in any HDR video you encounter are just going to be mindblowing if you haven't seen true 1000 nits+ monitor. The PG27UCDM I had was only able to do correct EOTF curve up to 400 nits but the XDR is accurate up to 2000 nits. That's the major difference. There are minor differences like

Not sure where people get these demonstrably wrong ideas. But OLED monitors are just as bright as OLED TVs, and are often brighter: LG C5 OLED TV: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c5-oled Sustained HDR 100% Window 216 cd/m² Asus pg27ucdm 27" OLED monitor: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/a

I was firmly in team IPS ever since my first LCD panel monitor. I just accepted the back light bleed issue as the cost of doing business. I upgraded from an IPS 4k monitor with dimmable LED array and gsync, to an Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM. I upgraded around April of 2024, and over the last year+

I want this super bad! Either this or PG32UCDM3. I ordered MPG 272URX and I get it tomorrow but I'm thinking I may return it and get PG27UCDM for dolby vision addition and from what I understand supposed bette build quality. Idk I'm torn because I want true black 500 and the extra scratch durability

I've never really looked into HDR mods let alone RTX HDR, PG27UCDM just crushes it, everything looks stunning whether it be native HDR in-game or autoHDR from windows

Overall the are excellent monitors and the best overall gaming monitors available. However, they aren't perfect. The strengths is superb contrast, highly accurate colors, and very clear motion all in one package. In addition there per pixel dimming makes a rather good HDR experience. Their weaknesse

If he cares about dark scene detail + real HDR, skip most IPS/VA “HDR400” stuff and go QD-OLED like the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM—in Tarkov it’s night-and-day because OLED gives true blacks and near-instant response times
