Micron to exit ‘Crucial’ consumer memory business
This is going to make the current prices explode even more. I'm currently realizing that the Rog Flow Z13 395+ with 64GB of ram that I got for $1400 is going to be the going price of JUST the ram.

The smaller you go the harder it is to cool and power it. Keep in mind, more powerful chip

If you want a tablet-laptop hybrid that can play games and also be a work machine, consider getting the Asus ROG Flow Z13 (2025).

Can I ask… why the 128gb RAM version?
No, for local AI , either you have enough and it runs great. Or you don’t have enough and it can barely move. The more ram you have , the bigger model and bigger context windows you can have. Edit to add. If you ignore the possibility of thermal throttling, ASUS Z13 is currently the cheapest way to

Z13 with XG Mobile 4090, EGPU RTX 5080 or on its own?
I don’t think Z13 Max 395 has the XG Mobile port. Only USB4. You can only buy the latest Asus eGPUs that support Thunderbolt 5 (backwards compatible, but lower bandwidth), but you’re paying for something overpriced that will probably not give you good performance. Cost-wise, I’d build an eGPU with o
