ROG Ally (Ryzen Z1 Extreme)

He’s talking about the non-Xbox version with Z1 Extreme chip. I just got the ASUS ROG Ally X, which has 1TB SSD, 24GB RAM and 120hz screen, for $430 used. The battery is much larger too.

Don't get the 65wh. It gives extra 40 minutes maybe. I got the original asus rog ally x 80wh battery. I get solid extra 90 minutes. Plus a 100w power bank which I use for my laptop give me another 90 minutes. In total I can play 4 - 5 hours.

Used ASUS ROG Ally running Windows if you need it, Bazzite if you can avoid it. Buy an extended JSAUX battery upgrade for the unit to address its main deficiency of poor battery life. That’s it these days. Everything else will be above your budget.

$1,000 gets you an Xbox Ally X. This is a Windows PC. It is not an Xbox like the name suggests. It’s very capable. Emulating Wii U works great and even on silent mode with the proper settings you’d only be pulling 13watts so battery life can be 5+ hours with these settings. It can do 25 watts on tur
