Apple discontinues Pro Display XDR

Much less angry about the SD XDR pricing now. Being 2X the cost of the Studio Display was unreasonable, but being ~66% of the cost of the Pro Display XDR with better brightness/color accuracy/connectivity/local dimming is a much more sensible interpretation. Yes, it got a little smaller, but ergonom

Apple fixed it. Studio Display XDR.

There are other "cheap" medical grade monitors. For example, this one from LG is about $3000: https://solutions.lg.com/us/diagnostic-monitors/lg-32hl512d-b The Apple display's specs are pretty outrageous. It's definitely in a niche, but it's the first and only occupant of that niche. The odd thing a

My feedback to Microsoft regarding HDR

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mchl50ecf3c4/mac "Note: These options only appear when you’re using Apple Pro Display XDR, Apple Studio Display, a 14-inch MacBook Pro (2021 or later) or a 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021 or later)." A 16inch MacBook Pro from 2021 goes for less than 900 euros

Apple's Studio Display 2 Reportedly on Track to Launch This Year With These New Features

Fair enough mate I'm glad it's been working out in real world use. You will have to excuse my very mild skepticism because colour science is well...a known science, and the pro display XDR doesn't expose many controls for calibration so maybe that's why we haven't seen any good calibration reports f

M5 Max MacBook Pro + XDR Display: Worth the upgrade?

No what I mean is the ProDisplay XDR is missing a bunch of features on those Sony displays (like SDI or even HDMI inputs for direct feed, scopes, adjustable LUT, etc), but those people had no clue about that because they only learned of the comparison from Apple's marketing materials. Similarly, the

14-inch Mac experience as editors?

you do NOT need 4k$ for something like this lol, something like a 300-400$ ASUS ProArt works perfectly fine, and has great color accuracy. Even apple's overpriced asf top-of-the-line studio xdr display starts at under 3000$ lol, 4k$ is insane

What's the best Monitor for Photo Editing available now?

No, don’t get the Studio Display. I have three of them and the colours are not accurate, calibration is frustrating, and they don’t match any of our other calibrated monitors. I spoke to our Apple business account manager about the issues and he said the Pro Display XDR solves that… so essentially t

Apple Studio Display XDR - Windows review?

You’re welcome. I think the nano is very subjective and user dependent. Compared to the glossy it was washed out. Upon walking in first time my 12yo son said “that monitor on left all the whites look gray dad.”

List of 32" 6K monitors

Believe it or not I was actually quite disappointed with the Pro Display XDR - I bought one used and only had it for a few months before selling it again because on top of some minor uniformity issues, the monitor has surprisingly bad off-axis-vignetting & also off-axis color shifting in the whites.

Apple's Studio Display 2 Reportedly on Track to Launch This Year With These New Features

Lots of manufacturers are getting into the 6K game now so it's not really worth getting an Apple display even if they do update and drop the price. You can get Kuycon's Pro Display XDR knockoff for $2000, Asus's less-elegant 6K display for $1200, and Samsung is releasing a couple 165Hz 6K monitors l
