Sound Engineering software compatibility with laptops?

There are some compatibility issues at the moment with M5 chips (including base, pro, and max chips) and some pieces of software and hardware, but these are just bugs because these chips are still fairly new. Apple changed the core layout on the new chips, which messes with some low-level software,

Is it worth it to get any m5 MBP if you work on pro tools?

I haven’t used the newest ones, but I use an M1 Mac Studio and an M3 MacBook Pro and they both work great with Pro Tools. I do a little bit of everything. Film, music, podcasts. I’ve never had any serious issues and I’ve pushed both machines pretty hard. If people are saying the M5 is causing issues

Leak reveals next-generation Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface Laptop

Love my Surface Laptop which I use as my personal laptop. Got a M5 MBP for work and its also a great laptop (Other than annoyances with MacOS). I dont understand how Microsoft think its a good idea to increase the surface prices when Apple is basically doing the opposite when it comes to Neo. I wont

Immich on MacOS - worth it?

I’ve been experimenting with Immich on my new M5 MacBook Pro for the last month. (I’ve been experimenting with a variety of containerised applications in this same manner, figuring out everything while in bed before going to sleep each night, before I build a proper Proxmox server). Works great. I’m

Sharing Models with clients

I’ve been working concurrently in Revit and ArchiCAD for the last 12 years and have recently ditched Revit and windows altogether - ArchiCAD is by far the best for any residential work, you can create more detail in the 3D Models which also is reflected in elevations (real 3D detail with CI Tools wa

How do YOU handle Windows+Mac machine setups?

While I'm not a gamer, I have a MacBook m5 pro 64gb, and I have Windows 11 Arm and Ubuntu 26 Arm as VMs. They run fine, because it's not emulation, except when Windows needs to run X86/64 software, in which it does the translation internally just fine.

Most popular laptops on the largest Dutch price tracking website

I also just went over from using a windows laptop to buying a base M5 MBP. Not because I was such a big apple fan, but because the overall package for the price was just too good to pass up. You don't get the good battery life, portable package, stable software and great performance anywhere else cu

Is there a way to remove this when I start my computer?

I wish there was. Microsoft has no concept of privacy. AI examining your desktop with recall, no “no” button just “Remind me in 3 days” and the forced Microsoft accounts. I have an M5 MBP alongside my gaming PC with Windows 11. Never had any pop ups on the Mac saying “Back up now” or forced updates.

long term university laptop

And anaconda, along with spyder being natively offered on Mac, though you need a workaround for pygmili, and albeit arcgis pro isn’t Mac native, I believe you could literally just use a virtual windows runner (like parallels) on Mac to run Arcgis pro if you really need to, OP also stated that he wou
