Apple introduces the new MacBook Air with M5
At $1,099 for the MacBook Air, this tells us that the new “low-cost” MacBook is likely going to be ~$799-899. I don’t think it’s going to be as low-cost as what people were hoping.

iPhone 17 Air to Start at $1,099 With 256GB Storage, 1TB for $1,499
Can someone tell me how a M4 MacBook Air is cheaper than an iPhone? It baffles me

macOS 26.3 might have just spilled Apple’s biggest March 4 secrets | Product drivers for the low-cost MacBook and two new Studio Displays spotted in the latest macOS code.
But that’s kind of Apple’s strategy… always make the customer pay a little more than they think is reasonable, so that with a couple of upgrade options, spending a little more and moving up to the next product tier (e.g. MacBook Air) makes sense. That’s how they get ya.

The A18 Pro MacBook has a trick up its sleeve... battery life.
They absolutely won’t give their cheapest laptop the longest battery life. For marketing reasons alone. This thing will likely cannibalize MacBook Air sales by existing, no need to make it worse

Macbook Neo
MacBook Neo and M1 MacBook Air are pretty comparable. You get a bit more performance in certain applications, but also a downgrade in screen and speakers. This is a side grade, and a waste of money. if you want an upgrade buy a MacBook Air with M4 or M5. Or just keep your machine.

Awesomeness of mac?
I wouldn't pay £950 for that machine when the M5 MacBook Air is £1,099. The M1 range will only get a couple more years of OS updates, the M5 is looking at probably 7 years. You have to remember the M1 Pro is still a good processor, but it is a 2020/2021 processor, the warranty is long gone and you'r

Mac neo confirmed??
It's a nice idea, but I don't think they'll release one. A Mac Mini is basically a MacBook Air M4 without the screen. keyboard and touchpad; the internals are otherwise very similar. How much less would a Mac Neo have to be than the MacBook Neo to be attractive? At least £250-£300 I'd say, but I sin

Apple Was Caught Off Guard by MacBook Neo's 'Off the Charts' Demand
The poor economy also resulted in it basically replacing the MacBook Air for a lot of buyers. Also, the MacBook Air is slowly becoming more and more expensive I guess. The Pro is becoming more for actual Pros, especially so if the Air gets 120 Hz someday.

Mac Mini M4 Suddenly out-of-stock
Apple has resorted to cheap tactics to force people to buy latest model simply by erasing earlier models from market. M4 macbook air were available for about 90k for about 3 weeks after m5 was released. Now one has to buy just m5 only. Further after reading about pre-activated/used products news fro
