MacBook air I've never seen anyone use one for anything more intensive than Microsoft office, email, and web browsing.

The first MacBook Air sucked. It was underpowered, temperamental, and the battery barely lasted through lunch. My dad always warned us to never buy the first model year, but I didn’t listen. Source: I owned one.

MacBook Neo and M1 MacBook Air are pretty comparable. You get a bit more performance in certain applications, but also a downgrade in screen and speakers. This is a side grade, and a waste of money. if you want an upgrade buy a MacBook Air with M4 or M5. Or just keep your machine.

MacBook Air M1, I’m switching because I’m kinda of tired of MacOS, in terms of privacy I don’t really like the direction Apple is heading, specially in Europe where I live, we’ll see with the new CEO, and if you want to install any standard Linux distro you can’t simply plug the usb and install it.

My MacBook Air has NOT been enough on may occasions for my work even in R (I’m doing an MS in evolutionary biology) I wish every day I had just splurged on the pro with high ram. Depends on what you are doing but if you doing any modeling in R an air might not cut it

A MacBook Air is probably not going to run unreal engine very well at all. Unreal would also burn through a ton of that 250 GB. If blender works for your use case, use it. If you’re looking to make a game and not just a 3d model, try a lighter weight engine than unreal, such as godot

I wouldn't pay £950 for that machine when the M5 MacBook Air is £1,099. The M1 range will only get a couple more years of OS updates, the M5 is looking at probably 7 years.
