Any lightweight laptops suggestions?
I absolutely hate MacOS with a passion. I use Windows and Linux computers on a daily basis. BUT I recently got a new MacBook Air M4 15" because I needed something that performed well with good battery life and decided to try a modern Mac on a whim and holy cow, while I still get frustrated with MacO

Are MacBooks still the most durable laptops?
It really depends on what you need. MacBook have become much easier to recommend in the last few years, especially on the low end. Need a good laptop for everyday to mid performance tasks, MacBook air M4 is an insanely good value. However if you need a laptop with more than 32GB ram and heavy proces

LPT: Don't Buy New Laptops From Amazon, but Directly From Manufacturer
Definitely poor advice. Last year, the MacBook Air M4 with 16GB RAM was $1099 on the Apple website. I got it on Amazon, brand new, during the Thanksgiving sale for $799. There is no universe where buying on the Apple website is a better decision.

Apple's Low-Cost MacBook: Everything We Know So Far
In late 2020, Apple released an education-only 128 GB M1 MBA for $799. That model was $100 less than the lowest configuration available to the general public, the 256 GB M1 MBA. M1 MacBook Air base configurations (from here and here): Display SoC RAM Storage EDU Price General Price 13.3" MBA M1 (8+7

Help me decide which to get for college!
First of all, if this is US, you should use Apple's educational store. That brings the price of 13" MBA M4 16GB 512GB down to $1099. And if you can wait until June/July, provided Trump's tariff doesn't ruin it, Apple will roll out Back to School promo with $150 gift card toward the purchase of MacBo

Shifting to MacOS from Windows as a developer
I've got a MacBook Air M4 and it's been fantastic, havent had any issues so far with complex projects, simulators or a million windows open. The M3 is jsut as capable. Hardly any different between the two. Dont go for the M1/M2. I had both the M1 and M2 and found them to get rather hot and some even

After 3 days of using Tahoe 26.4 - here is my verdict.
Working very well here, MacBook Air M1 8GB, 26.4 is much faster than the initial versions of Tahoe. Everything opens quickly, even though it has only 8gb of Ram. I can't understand so many people complaining about bugs or performance, everything works perfectly on my M1 (old processor already), cons

Is MacBook Air M4 sufficient enough for Storyline?
I don't know much about the MacBook Air M4 but get as much RAM as you can. That is critical for running Storyline smoothly in Parallels. It works great for me on my MacBook Pro M1 with 32 GB RAM.
